VATTTAN Projects, in collaboration with Bavan Gallery, is presenting the fourth annual "Common Areas" event.
A thin yet fundamental layer that simultaneously covers, shapes, and protects us. In a sense, it is a subtle boundary that defines the physical distinctions between human forms.

A thin yet fundamental layer that simultaneously covers, shapes, and protects us. In a sense, it is a subtle boundary that defines the physical distinctions between human forms.
In this work, the body intertwined with plant life gives rise to a new kind of
ectoderm — one that not only replaces the human face, but through the
senses, can evoke memories or dissolve the
boundaries of time and space. Like the texture of a rough surface or the
scent of something familiar.
In this collection, Ectoderm does not present an ordinary human with a familiar structure. Instead, it creates a being born of light and chlorophyll — a form adapted to its environment, seeking light and water in order to grow.
