This series emerged from personal reflections on our relationship with objects. Simple and familiar objects that time has passed by, yet they still hold a trace of life within.
Every object was once held in someone's hands and was touched by a life. What I see in these objects is the trace of those moments. A memory that goes beyond the physicality of that object. A worn-out piece of fabric is a testament to the human labor and physical effort of its weaver; its stitching carries stories, and its
presence adorns a home. An antique glass vessel carries in its form the history of its usage, and the thought process of its maker. An object can simultaneously be a commodity, a historical artefact, a work of art, a symbol of power, a part of nature, and a vessel of collective memory.
For me, still life is the narrative of the space between objects, and an understanding of their history. The relationship that forms, the rhythm that arises, and the presence that is felt even in the absence of a human figure.
