Setareh Bakhtiyari
Setareh Bakhtiyari (b. 1999, Tehran, Iran) is an architecture graduate from Sooreh University, who is a self-taught painter.
She picked up painting not long after finishing her studies and has been consistent in this path ever since.
She considers her aesthetic to be influenced by incidents, memories, and stories that shaped her, and her way of making art is deeply engaged with this aesthetic.
Most of her works are images of different human beings gathered together in various situations, usually with calm and indifferent implications.
You can hardly find an artwork of hers without the presence of a human figure.
The subjects of her paintings vary over time: sometimes she illustrates a car accident, and sometimes a large gathering with an unknown timing.
