Omid Mehdizadeh (b.1983, Tehran, Iran) began his career as a self-taught photographer and then turned to sculpture, installation, and combining the two with photography. Most of his works are made with concrete and aluminum. He mainly depicts decaying urban landscapes with a conceptual approach. He has held nine solo exhibitions and has participated in several group shows. Mehdizadeh has won the award for photography and poster design at Vienna Independent Shorts (Austria, 2006) and was selected as the top photographer in Hans Christian Andersen Awards (Germany, 2002).
