Omid Mehdizadeh (b.1983, Tehran, Iran) began his career as a self-taught photographer and then turned to sculpture, installation, and combining the two with photography. Most of Mehdizadeh’s works are made with concrete and aluminum. He mainly depicts decaying urban landscapes with a conceptual approach. He has held nine solo exhibitions and has participated in several group shows domestically and internationally, such as ”Hideousness”, Mohsen Gallery, Tehran(2019); «Unclear Deal», Contemporary Photography from Iran, The Mine Gallery, Dubai, UAE(2015); «Enqelab Street», Urban Hegemony, Berlin, Germany(2015); Mehdizadeh has won the award for photography and poster design at Vienna Independent Shorts, Austria(2006) and was selected as the top photographer in Hans Christian Andersen Awards, Germany(2002). Mehdizadeh lives and works in Tehran, Iran.
