Farhad Mafavvaz
Farhad Mafavvaz (born 1988) is a painter and illustrator. He received his diploma in Graphic Design in 2005 from Sooreh Art High School and earned a BFA in Painting in 2011 from Shahed University in Tehran. His visual studies and academic training in painting during these years shaped his artistic means of expression, through which his perspective on the human figure and the quality of human presence became evident in his works. As his path evolved, his attention gradually turned toward nature and the observation of phenomena, accompanied by a contemplation of the relationship between human beings and the vastness of existence, which became a formative aspect of his artistic outlook.
His interest in narrative led him, alongside painting, to create personal comic strips.a direction that later resulted in collaborations with cultural and cinematic projects. This narrative background gradually found its way into his paintings as well, where the image functions not merely as an independent frame but as a carrier of space and time. The representation of imagined spaces through an underlying, implicit narrative has become one of the defining characteristics of his work. farhad’s works have been shown in numerous group exhibitions in Iran and abroad.
His experience in teaching drawing and color is also an integral part of his professional practice. In this context, teaching is not simply a matter of transferring technical skills, but rather a platform for dialogue about perception, observation, and the cultivation of visual sensitivity in students. Engaging with their diverse questions and experiences has, in turn, become a significant factor in the ongoing vitality of his perspective and the continuity of his artistic exploration, and this educational activity continues to this day.
